at my psychiatrist rn and i was hmmm three hours late, my sched was 4:40pm and i got here just before 7pm.

anyway i do this bec the doc is a bad scheduler. she doesn't have a secretary. nor she adjusts her scheduling. she gives you an estimated time based on 20-30 min increments for each patient.

but the newbies who don't know any better are always complaining loudly, getting snarky with doc.

it feels like im jumping the line when i arrive at 7pm and im already 3rd in the current line, and doc is trying to placate the situation bec two guys are being assholes.

i hate it bec she's an old sweet lady. i bring her pastries i bake, because i never see her eat dinner during my waits.

when she comes out after each patient, to call out the next, she meets all of us and gives us some sort of queue so we know who comes after who.

this has always been my experience, almost every session. there's a new patient who's very irritable bec of the long wait. or someone comes in for a last minute schedule, and the wacky schedule is wackier. tensions get high. doc is tired.

she was once the president of the only reputable psychiatric organization in this godforsaken country. she is that girl. we know she is that girl. (she's like 70 now tho)

but the problem is always the new ones.

the thing is, most of us old regulars, know about this. there was a time when she used to only see patients late at night til early morning (6pm til 6am).

a lot of the regulars came from far away provinces, driving hours to see her. we'd bring food, snacks, blankets, pillows, as we waited.

but she never follows them! she is so so generous with her time. that most patients spend at least 1-2 hours with her.

you might think, why do we put up with this? because she is kindest doctor i have ever met.
