I didn’t think I’d find a game that I wanted to love more than DS1, but Hollow Knight found a way.

At least I wanted to finish Dark Souls despite everything.

I think I’m done with Hollow Knight.

I killed the Dream Guardian whatever dudes in Fungal Wastes and Greempath (I think that’s where it was? The one that spawns ghosts that go across the screen as it teleports) but everywhere else seems like it need a dive or a double jump, or a way to clear the black energy barriers. I’m stumped.

I can’t even find the maps lol. I have Greenpath, Forgotten Crossroads, and Resting Grounds. I don’t have Fog Canyon, Fungal Wastes, or Queens Gardens. I’m assuming I need to do something in those areas next.

I feel like I have missed a large part of Hollow Knight somehow lol. I have the Dream Nail, but the only ability I've gotten so far is the Mothwing Cloak. Looking at people talking about what to do after the Dream Nail, they're mentioning enemies and abilities I don't have yet

Its definitely a preference more than a flaw. These games are all about backtracking to dead ends with new abilities, but with so many zones open at once and most of them without maps, I'm personally finding it hard to remember where all the dead ends are to see if they're open with new abilities.

Like, why does it cost almost 2K and a badge slot to have a functioning map? Why are half the upgrades solutions to problems they intentionally made? Why are spirit fights such a difficulty curve with walkbacks in areas you don’t have the map for yet? Why am I playing this instead of Metroid Prime?

I wanna love Hollow Knight but it’s like they have this great Metroidvania then add all this shit on top to actively make the genre more annoying to play.

As someone who has supported Affinity since their initial launch, if they end up going that way, I'm gonna dig up the video after the Canva acquisition where they swore that wouldn't happen and flip them the biggest, most aggressive bird I can possibly manage.

Found this in my Notes from like a year ago. Feel like with Sora 2 it’s more relevant than ever.

There’s more profit potential in giving the masses the illusion of creative potential, rather than empowering actual creative professionals to be more effective.

Why hasn’t AI been leveraged to reduce human labor? Because these corporations RELY on that indentured servitude of the masses to stay in power. Freeing humanity from the burden of labor and empowering them as individuals would also wrestle away the ruling class’s control of the mechanisms of society itself. And we can’t have that, now can we? It’d disappoint the shareholders!
