That people decided to make beautiful spaces so that others could enjoy them.

That’s nice.

Shōyō-en Garden. Central Nikko.
A dorm room setting. Burlington. 1990s.

“Found a fat roach.”

Now that’s a different story.
We ultimately went with a pellet stove.

Pros and cons for each. It is cozy looking and heats up the first floor quite nicely.
Jim put on wool socks and looked into the fire. It was a good fire.

“Nothing is ever over,” said Bill.

Jim poured coffee and said nothing.

“It will all come back,” said Bill. “That heat and humidity. It will come back.”

As far as front walkways go.

While it lasts.
It’s only been a week.

Miss it already.
I see what you share.

I believe you are.
Ha. It can get that way.

“In order to combat the increasing use of illegal street prostitution by foreign tourists, this administration will demand the removal of all ‘Japanese Only’ signs from Very Official Pink Salons and Soaplands, beginning with the greater Tokyo area.”

Would be a kinda sort funny outcome.
That soft light and those long winter shadows.

Very pleasing.
Do you happen to recall the podcast?
For the past month or so I’ve been reading this person’s journal every morning. I like the way it’s written and there is always something to learn.

I’d bookmarked it “Hokkaido Guy Blog.”

But now I sort of feel like a presumptive dick.
