Welcome new people! Thanks.

Me: Global education policy, global development, privatisation, research, academia, open science, open access. Did lots of media during pandemic. Love public engagement.

Also: Random things. Use 's' not 'z' and Oxford commas. Always.

🌍Every document brings the world closer to #aidtransparency.

Nearly 500,000.
That’s the scale of documents shared through the IATI on aid, from project details, contracts, budgets, evaluations, and more.

Thinking about this for most of the night, I don't think normal people realise Banerjee & Duflo leaving MIT is Bad-Bunny-level academic news.

Some days, I'm extra thankful for my compassionate and wonderful collaborators who step in when the load is too much.

Today is one of those days.

Thank you. 🤍

Wow - I didn't know the history of R - it's co-creator, Emeritus Professor of Statistics Ross Ihaka, University of Auckland, and of Māori descent.

A true global public good used by millions.

My team used it to program covid19schooldashboard.com a critical resource during the pandemic.

I had an article under review for 2 years. It made it through - but still.

I split the class up in groups according to interest. They have to work on a case study during class time and submit by the end of the class. It's like doing a lab but in a social science setting.

I've done in-class group assessments for one of my courses.

Tell me about it. But we're heading into spring/summer here and I miss October fall. :)

Hahaha... two halves of my personality in perfect measure. There's a bouquet I need.

Also, you can't casually mention you had a short story published and leave us hanging. :)

My favourite editing is when I get a MS back completely red with tracked changes. I don't like hesitant editing - 'have you considered this?' Just go ahead and be bold with your editing. Put it in tracked changes. I love that. Usually makes it better and if I don't like the changes, I'll reject.

Same. Yet, it permeates every society - if not in the form of 'race' distinction resulting in racism then in the form of 'colour' distinction resulting in colourism.
