Can you imagine the replies? All the "Claude Code 4eva" stans?

AI has lost the dunce vote. It’s over

I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.

Not that she'll be entering the Senate as anything other than a visitor.

If they nominate her, she'll lose.
prietschka.bsky.social
Oh, not 70 years old.

Collins will be 79 when she enters the Senate for the first time.

79.

They've learnt nothing.

-5 points for use of 'force multiplier' unironically.

And you've been judged.

Also, he's obviously being fed a bunch of misinfo and deluded fantasies by those around him as a means of controlling him/getting what they want.

Add in Fox News, which broadcasts to an audience of one these days, and you can understand everything that's happening.

What's really fascinating right now is how President Business is clearly suffering from advanced dementia, but no one is allowed to point this out.
prietschka.bsky.social
It's fascinating that this scummy little corner of tech got off the ground in the first place, and that it hasn't been completely shut down over, now, like 15 years.
prietschka.bsky.social
This is an entirely different beast though.

This is a human centipede, there's nothing small about it and, from every angle, it's just an unworkable horror.

Remember when we gave even a passing thought to the amount of compute our applications were using?

Remember when that was a thing?

America and the UK are being ruined by their Boomer infestations.

What is even going on?

It’s all happening on x dot com where I do my banking

Omg, get with the present, Fulk!

It's hilarious and pathetic who's positioned themselves as "stars" in the AI "research" field.

Always the best positioned, never the actual best.

We now know who's receiving those purported $100MM comp packages; I hope Tulloch got the money upfront and with as few strings as possible.

So is middle aged nostalgia.
prietschka.bsky.social
The mix here at the lake house keeps playing the new Brandi Carlile and it's so bad.

It's like middle aged nostalgia dialed up to 11. It's like sitting down at the dinner table and eating a bowl of NutriSweet with a serving spoon.

It's. So. Bad.

This is a lie.

A look at Figure AI's new robot, Figure 03, which the company claims will be its first mass-producible humanoid capable of domestic chores and industrial labor (Billy Perrigo/Time)

Right?

A CEO, CTO, etc. should respond to this idea with a memo stating there is a **blanket prohibition** on doing this, and then convene whatever group is needed to look at how to properly approach a dangerous, and dangerously unreliable, technology.

Anything less is mismanagement.
prietschka.bsky.social
Oh absolutely.

I truly don't understand how cos. have allowed this to proliferate with, often, zero internal throttling.

Like this "Gemini Enterprise." The only thing a CEO, etc. should say to "I'd like to feed all our company data into Google's SAAS product" is "absolutely not."
prietschka.bsky.social
The collapse must come, and it's going to be centred on the extreme lack of utility.

Sometime, somewhere someone will ask "wait, why is there a 'summarise' button that no one has ever used here? That's the extent of this 'revolution?'"

And then it all comes tumbling down.
prietschka.bsky.social
Feed all your company's data to Gemini, it's so easy!

With "tool use" enabled it's even easier!

Then allow your employees to query all your proprietary data -- which you've just given to Google.-- and receive answers that may or may not be correct, no one can tell!

Perfect for decision making!

I am so, so sick of all this insanity.

It's simply a matter of code, Turner.
