I wonder if this is because left leaning voters didn't consume the media, or if right wing votes are just uniquely vulnerable to propaganda

Thinking about the time I bought a gorgeous ttrpg book, but it was printed upside down

Me: Did you guys know this book is backwards?

Cashier: yea, my manager was going to toss it, but I stopped him because I figured someone would think it's neat.

Me: Well you're correct. It's me.

Absolute, 100% radio silence, in response to any kind of call out has always. Always worked out better than typing up some defense
"I want to clear my name" who cares it's social media. You could have god himself advocating for you and you'd still have people finding something to complain about
I don't even mean like, debates between randos, but moreso callout culture.

I cant recall the last time someone made some high profile callout post, to which the response in any way did anything productive.
I think one of the ways social media has rotted people's brains, regardless of political alignments/social status is the absolute inability to just not respond
Someone explain to me why smart TV's seem uniquely shitty. What about them sets them apart from a laptop/tablet/phone/any other device
I assume this is like, a high profile attendee or panelist, not some random attendee
for your average citizen, not committing a crime beyond ignoring their bills, it can take years to get criminal charges.

The IRS will give *ample* chances to correct your taxes before it comes to that.
So the government makes us report it for them, essentially making us do the work and then they just audit and correct our work accordingly.

If you make a mistake and underpay, they'll just send you a bill. If you refuse to correct your taxes, you could get criminal charges.
Such as personal investments, stocks, things not associated with our employment etc.

Technically the government "knows" this info, but there's no good system for actively tracking it for every American.
When Americans "file taxes" in April, we're reporting our *actual* earnings for the year, so the government can correct the amount our employer withheld. Whether that's a refund, or a bill.

This is also when we pay taxes on anything our employer doesn't know about.
Most Americans have been having taxes taken automatically out of our paychecks every check, the entire year.

The amount taken is calculated by your employer for you, but it's almost impossible to get it correct down to the cent.
To throw a little more unsolicited explanation on American taxes: What 99% of Americans are talking about, in the month of April, is our tax *returns*.

It's when we file paperwork informing the government of our *actual* income/financial status.

Over the year, we have been paying *estimated* tax
9 minutes into my business trip and I miss my boyfriend and puppy
Still a garbage system though
The whole thing about not telling you how much money you owe is a little misleading. It's true that they don't tell you, but if you overpay they send you a refund, and if you underpay they send you a bill. The only people who go to jail are the people intentionally not paying.
Because it is intentionally difficult. We have tax companies whose sole purpose is to help us file taxes. An easy, free, federal option would put them out of business, so they lobby hard against it.
If we can't even get a simple tax filing system here in the US, we're never getting a transfer system lol
The major banks in the US aren't going to just get in a room together and work out a transfer system, so it would have to be mandated by the government

And the gov't, frankly, just doesn't really care
Honestly it's probably just a matter of motivation. Why would a bank bother making a system for moving money out of their bank? In a lot of cases, they even charge you for transferring money bank to bank. That's why I do the check thing.
