Have you ever looked at a geographical map of the US upside down? It's a different perspective. Most view politics on a linear horizontal plane. On each end is centralized statism. If you look at it as a vertical line with anarchy (no state) at the top and statism on the bottom, your view changes.

Have you ever been to a communist country? I was in the Soviet Union in the 1980s, and it was totalitarianism. The state controlled everything. In theory, it is utopia. In reality, it is miserable. I was never so glad to get on a plane and fly away. Look at China. Is that not centralized power?
