I don't understand why people are so eager to fire a manager in his second year when the first one was the most successful the team has been in nearly a decade.

Firing managers every year or two is only gonna make things worse for the players.

Admittedly there is a lot of Disco that I've forgotten as I've watched most of it once, where I've seen TNG top to bottom maybe half a dozen+ times.

I would like to believe that Starfleet tested the waters with a lot of these things and found that the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. You can see where the line stops when they're investigating ____ and they're asking the computer a series of questions to help them make a deduction. It's a tool.

I tend to be a little pessimistic with these sorts of things and feel like "they did it for the plot" is the reason more often than not. If there are cameras everywhere, how can you have a murder mystery? But you bring up some interesting points.

One neighbor has at least two roosters. I know because they have different sounding calls. Who knew?
