Yeah, that’s kinda my point. We have to face the facts that this regime has been ignoring courts since February and is taking more illegal actions every month than it did the previous month, and the GOP Congress has abdicated. So it ain’t over by a long shot.
It’s cute that you think the actual meaning of the act as-written matters, or that the Republican congress would do anything about the executive branch illegally suspending habeas. We already know neither court orders nor Congress will stop Trump’s lawbreaking.
“Trumpism is more than politics. It’s an emotional gas-main explosion, from people who felt unheard, patronized, left behind.” Baloney! Trump supporters hate having to be equal. That’s what they’re exploding over — having their supremacy threatened.
And hey, we could put catheters on our devs so they don’t have to get up for the bathroom. Oh, and we’ll install feeding tubes so they don’t have to leave for lunch. And then….
If they declare martial law, who will stop them? That’s really the only question to ask about anything these folks intend to do: Who is going to stop them? And how?
Uh… those people have so far obeyed orders to illegally deploy to US cities and to illegally blow up boats and to illegally transport people to foreign gulags. So you’ll have to excuse me for having exactly zero faith that they will suddenly start refusing to do whatever Trump commands.
We are not going to get to vote. Everyone opposed to this is going to have to unite and SHUT DOWN every occupied city with general strikes. It’s the only way.
