QEII knew and understood that the wife of the king is Queen Consort and always titled Queen (compared to a female monarch who is Queen Regnant, and also titled Queen). It is impossible to be Queen Consort and not also being Queen. She was saying Camilla shouldn’t be Princess (Consort is a given)

Being laid down in law for centuries is more powerful! You understand it would have required an act of parliament for Camilla to be anything other than Queen, because wives of kings are automatically Queen? The monarch (whether King or Queen Regnant) doesn’t have the sort of power you imply

When Charles first married Camilla it was suggested that, when he became King, she would be known as Princess Consort (following on from her being known as Duchess of Cornwall rather than Princess of Wales). Asking for her to be known as Queen Consort was asking for standard titles, ie Queen

You are thoroughly confused between what is the role/position (Queen Consort, wife of king) and what is the title (Queen). I'll leave you to stew in your own prejudice, it sounds like taking on new information is beyond you, but hopefully others won't be misled by your misinformation.

He wanted her known as Queen because that is what she is, just like his grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. You understand that Queen is the same title for Consort, Dowager and Regnant? I understand the history of my own country, thank you

And so she is, not known as Princess Camilla which is what was proposed at time of marriage to Charles when he eventually became King. The Consort just means wife, her role & position is by marriage. The options were standard ’Queen’ or special provision to make her ‘Princess’. QEII asked for Queen

You are interpreting the facts in line with a particular narrative. QEII was daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter of Queens Consort. She fully knew and understood the title is always Queen. Unfortunately she overestimated the knowledge of the general public who were unfamiliar with it

Every Queen Consort is crowned alongside their husband at the coronation, and every Queen Consort is always titled Queen. The crown used to crown Queen Camilla belonged to the Queen Consort of George V, Queen Mary. No one changed anything, simply followed centuries of precedent

Many many Queens have lived and died. The current wife of the current king is The Queen. Vast majority of Queens are the Consort type, always titled Queen
