Even better, I found that the lids from Parmesan containers fit regular-mouth sized glass mason jars.

I prefer glass so I use them for storing and sprinkling spice mixes like dry rubs for barbeque.

I used basil seeds from my local Indian grocery store labeled 'Takmaria'. Thousands of seeds for a few dollars. Not sure which varietal of basil it is but it's very fragrant when flowering.

I've been having fun making dishes with Holy Basil from India, Thailand, Laos etc.

Very fragrant.

A Caprese salad would be a nice variation with using Holy Basil if you can find some.

I had to grow it but I have a nice patch growing in my garden now.

I grow hot peppers.

My favorite way to use them is to dehydrate them then grind them and make spicy mayonnaise for grilled sandwiches or other dishes.
