Can’t do any of that without health care.

Hold the provinces accountable for HC funding. Stop the privatization of health care services. Fund public LTC facilities and seniors’ homes. Everyone needs health care.

Doing the opposite would be an impossible task for artists and creators to manage. How on earth could we ever know our work was used by any of the millions of AI users worldwide? 3 of 3

The default setting for AI permissions from artists must be “No permission given for AI use.” as it is protected now with copyright law. The onus must be on the AI user to ask permission to use a work created by someone else. 2 of 3

There’s also the aspect of those who work in the arts, for the most part, have an already difficult time getting by. Losing copyright law to approving an AI free-for-all is theft and will be devastating. 1 of 3

If you look at who’s extolling the virtues of AI, you only need to stop at Capitalism. The most expensive thing a company spends its money on, usually, is payroll. If a company can replace employees with AI, it’s a huge win for shareholders. Amazon’s recent layoff announcement is a good example.

Yes, we’re seeing that now with the shrinkflation method of cost cutting.

There’s also good reason for capitalists to extoll the virtues of AI. Cutting payroll is a capitalist’s dream. The lay off announcement of 30,000 Amazon employees to be replaced by AI is just one example.

Short term, Capitalism benefits the owners. Long term, it benefits no one. I’m not sure how higher prices year-over-year can be sustainable in the long run. When no one can afford to buy your product, who wins then? We’re already seeing people being priced out of the housing and vehicle markets.
