I think if it happened, is standard UMG practice as a distributor. Their shareholders benefit when music is amplified and thus they would pay for promoting any music they release.

I think Drake is mudding the waters so that his fans have a theory as to why he fell off.

I can see your theory but I don't buy it. My theory is Drake was upset because in the past his complaints about verses were effective.

Example: Maybach Music VI was shipped without the Pusha T verse on it because of Drake. And Ross was on a different label altogether.
