There is a bit of folklore about the corn stalks left at the edge of fields. Supposedly, farmers leave a few for good luck and to ward off evil.
I like to think of that when passing harvested fields; not even thinking it was just that the machines missed them.

Blue Angels

Blue metal birds fly,
Right above my house and home.
They still watch over me.

I grew up with Blue Angel pilots in our home all the time; in my father’s Navy circle.

Blue sky with two white fluffy clouds touching. In the little strip of blue before they touch, the sun is just peaking through causing light rays to shoot out.
The elite flying group- Blue Angels have been having fly overs the last couple of days in celebration of the Navy’s 250th anniversary.
Today as we were walking into the house from the cottage they flew directly overhead, shaking the house and ground.
It was stunning- so reminded me of growing up on and around military bases where flying machines were based.
Yes, I whooped it up as I did when a kid!
Love our fly boys and girls! Respect for our vets!

Whatever amount of walnuts you put into container to boil, just cover with water.
During boiling try to break up shells more with any type of object. They get soft and slip off or open; this way more coloring is released.
Use pots and spoons that you no longer need as this stains everything.
