I can highly recommend it! You just need to decide first if it's summer or winter, both have their big pros and cons.

I lived my childhood 40-60km from Russian border, in 3 different cities.

Luckily now the distance is >400km.

Jos yksin tai kaksin reissaa, niin eipä niissä välttämättä enää edes säästä.

Mutta yritäpä löytää jollekin isommalle porukalle järkevällä hinnalla hotelli pariksi yöksi. Siis pari vähän isompaa perhettä.

Kun taas Airbnb:n kautta saattaa löytyä joku vähän isompi omakotitalo/mökki.

Reindeers are somewhat different, as in Finland they are "domesticated" in a sense that someone owns them. But they are wandering freely except during the seasons they are gathered together for various reasons ("a couple of times" per year).

Hum. More gamey than chicken, no surprise here, but I don't think it's as gamey as moose (Alces Alces) we hunt here for meat.

I would think it's about preparation, at least partially.

When you drive around Lapland (Northern Finland), it's quite hard to miss those animals. Pic from our last trip.

Reindeer is tasty! Although a bit expensive, if you compare it to pork/chicken.

It's definitely Finnish food, so I highly recommend trying this most classic reindeer dish if you ever come here.

Tämä on varmastikin se todellisuus. Ja koska noissa ryhmätilanteissa näkyy erityisesti tuo negatiivinen puoli, niin positiivinen kehitys jää helpommin joko havaitsematta tai jakamatta eteenpäin.

Koko ajan pitäisi olla jotain uutta ja ihmeellistä, koko ajan pitäisi saada itse olla äänessä. Mikä on hieman haastava kuvio ryhmää ohjatessa.

Lapset eivät myöskään kestä tylsyyttä niin hyvin enää.

Mutta se on kyllä noin ylipäätään hyvä, että eteenpäin on menty! 3/3

Esimerkiksi lasten keskittymis- ja ryhmässätoimimistaidot. Ei tarvi kovinkaan monen pitkään kasvatus-/opetusalalla työskennelleen kanssa jutella, kun sieltä tulee jo sitä viestiä, että lasten keskittymiskyky on paikoin ihan olematon. Ei enää jakseta kuunnella samalla tavoin kuin aiemmin. 2/

Tää on mielenkiintoinen teema. Vähän sama kuvio kuin Hans Roslingin kirjassa, missä todetaan, että maailmassa on moni asia paljon oikeasti paljon paremmin kuin usein näyttää.

Eli nuorillakin menee nykyään paljon paremmin kuin aiemmin.

Mutta silti taas tietyt haasteet ovat kyllä lisääntyneet. 1/
