Ebola Update 28 Sept 2025, 7 cases (6 confirmed, 1 probable) were reported in Bulape Health Zone, Kasai Province down from 11 the prior week. No new cases since 30 Sept. As of 1 Oct: 64 cases (53 confirmed, 11 probable) and 42 deaths.

In 2024, the U.S. reported 10,347 #TB cases (3.0/100k) an 8% rise from 2023. That’s the highest case count in over a decade. While TB is not a relic of the past or a distant memory, it’s here, it’s growing and most importantly...it’s preventable. #Tuberculosis

TB already kills more people each year than any other infectious disease. Aid cuts could push millions more toward preventable death by 2030. We have the tools and resources to stop this. #GlobalHealth funding should not be optional.

We all know that outbreaks don’t respect borders. Investing in sustainable, affordable tech & empowering local experts is essential. When countries like the US step back from funding these resources, the world is left more vulnerable. Until every country is prepared, none of us truly are.

High-income countries can identify pathogens in hours and share data in real time. This is not the reality for many low-resource areas that rely on paper records, limited internet, and delayed reporting which only widens the response gap and makes global containment harder.

Access to resources that prevent & respond to outbreaks like #Ebola, #COVID, #BirdFlu (or the next one) is far from equal. The very tools that stop outbreaks early and strengthen surveillance remain out of reach in the regions facing the greatest risk.

Updates coming out of DRC: Suspected #Ebola cases have jumped from 28 to 68, per Africa CDC. The outbreak has now spread from 2 to 4 districts, with 16 deaths reported. Challenge of remote areas, poor infrastructure, and community engagement are creating urgent obstacles for containment.
