Lately I’ve been working on some big armour pieces for The Machine. Hopefully you’ll see some of the progress in a few days. In the meantime, here’s an updated collage of my 12 Amiga related costumes.

I’m on my way to Amiga40 🥳

I finished 3 new Amiga costumes on time. There wasn’t enough time to take pictures of the finished cosplays, so the final look of The Machine will be a surprise to everyone, including myself.

Here’s hoping for a cool, fun event!

I’ve been very busy painting The Machine’s armour. Here’s one of my favourite pieces: the left thigh armour.

I have less than 3 weeks left to finish this cosplay and two smaller projects for Amiga40. I’m living in serious crunch time now.

Lately I’ve been busy priming and painting The Machine’s armour. The costume has 20 armour pieces, 9 of which are now completely finished. Here’s one of them: the neck armour.

It’ll take me a few more weeks to finish this project.

Last week I was at Gamescom again. It’s mainly a social and retro game event for me. It was great to chat with some old friends, attend nice dinners, get good feedback on The Machine, etc. 
Overall, Gamescom 2025 was a good experience for me. I’ll most likely go to Cologne again in 2026.

Here’s my cosplay lineup for Gamescom. I’m going full Amiga mode again, this time with Rainbow Islands, Maniac Mansion, Battle Chess, and The Great Giana Sisters. I’ll likely wear the costumes in that order from Thursday to Sunday.

The Machine’s pants are finished, which brings the costume to 22/23 parts (minus the paint job).

I’ve started working on the last missing part: the cloak. I’ve also been adding some final details on the armour and will start priming some of the armour pieces soon.

10 years ago today, I wore my first Turrican suit at Gamescom and met @chrishuelsbeck.bsky.social for the first time. The cosplay was a tribute to Chris’ music, so it was fantastic to actually meet him. Chris is one of my absolute favourite composers, and I’m proud to be able to call him a friend.

I’ve been working on The Machine’s undersuit. The shirt is now finished and I’ll finish the pants today.

I still need to make the cloak and paint the armour. I’m behind schedule, so I won’t finish the project by Gamescom.

The debut of The Machine is now officially at Amiga40.

Lately I’ve been working on The Machine’s hands. These armour pieces need to be primed and painted before they’ll be glued on a pair of gloves.

The Machine is now at 20/23 costume parts. I’m behind schedule again. I’m hoping to finish the project by the end of August.

My first event of the year, Amiga Ruhrpott Convention, takes place next week. I’m looking forward to it. My plan A is to cosplay the Blue Queen from Battle Chess there. However, if the weather gets crazy hot, plan B is to be Razor from Maniac Mansion instead.

The Machine’s both arms are done now. I’m at 18/23 costume pieces, with 5 more parts plus the paint job still missing. I can’t wait to see the whole armour in a funky purple colour!

I made 3 new armour pieces for The Machine in May: both upper arms and the right lower arm. The latter is roughly based on the intro of Turrican 2, but the upper arms are my own addition.

At this point I only have 6 costume parts missing, plus of course the paint job.

I’ve finished working on The Machine’s boots, for now. Painting will be done later.

As usual, my primary reference picture came from the intro of Turrican 2. A few key elements on my boots are roughly based on it; everything else is my interpretation.

The Machine now has armour for the right leg too. This piece has two LEDs: one with a static red glow and one that changes colour. The armour on the legs isn’t based on any reference, but I wanted to include them for a more consistent look.

Next up: boots!

I made 4 new armour parts for The Machine this month: the belt, crotch armour, hip armour, and left thigh armour. The first 3 are based on the reference from Turrican 2. I wanted some additional armour on the legs too to keep the look consistent throughout the costume.

The Machine now has shoulder armour too. Their overall shape is based on the intro of Turrican 2, everything else is my interpretation. At this point I’ve built almost 1/3 of the costume parts, although the armour still needs to be painted.
