As a disclaimer, I have yet to see the film itself. For all I know, it’s likely just an slightly above average film, except with a lot of baggage attached to it. But even so, it’s still not a good look & I fear for the future of Tron as a whole. /4

As someone who is a fan of Tron, I still see great potential in the series, but it’s obvious that filmmakers can never figure out how to craft a solid story to complement the visuals. Additionally, they shouldn’t have casted Leto at all as it’s clear he’s box office poison… /2

I know some people will get tired of me discussing this, but I want to talk about it anyway. It hurts me that Tron as a series/franchise has never quite fond its footing & seems doomed to fail. And sadly, this might be one of those times. /1

Seeing some early reviews/impressions of Tron: Ares (particularly those who have seen the film), and it’s about how I expected—a mixed reception. I may still see it out of curiosity, but I’m going to wait for now.

Been mostly quiet lately as I’ve been busy all week, save for Thursday of which I finally saw Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. I highly enjoyed it, though I do agree with the pacing issues.

I find it bleak that ChatGPT now has more users than Wikipedia. Many people would rather be spoon-fed information by a machine than read and research for themselves. Tech isn't just making us dumber. Worse than that: it's killing curiosity itself and the desire to learn.

As someone who is a Tron fan, this really hurts me. As much as I would like Tron as a franchise to succeed, it’s not a good look to partner with an already toxic platform & a controversial star, which already sours the waters.

As an aside, the second Game Stop I went to (because I wanted another code) required proof that you have the game, whether you have your Switch on you or show them the Nintendo Game App. Thankfully, I had the app and showed them that.
