earlier today i met an amazing lady whilst having a relaxing coffee. Valerie - we may never see each other again in this lifetime, but you were a wonderful drinking companion. 82 years young and so full of inspiration, energy, life and laughter. i wish the world was full of more people like you xxx

if you’ve never heard Beatles In Mono box set it will make you really sit up and listen. some songs are so different to the stereo versions that are now the “standard” - even though i now appreciate are massively inferior. also worth remembering The Beatles mixed in mono - stereo was an afterthought

once i got The Beatles In Mono box set, and heard the lps in a completely different way i have been slightly obsessed with mono. White Light / White Heat also packs an enormous punch in that guise!

i had only been on BlueSky for a short while before #80sTop30 started up. such lucky timing for me not to feel like the “new kid at school” and get involved. and such fantastic, eclectic tastes everyone has (as well as providing useful memory stimulus for someone in his 6th decade). thank you all!

Saint Alban was executed around 300AD. immediately after delivering the fatal stroke the eyes of the executioner popped out of his head and dropped to the ground (along with Alban's head), so the executioner could not rejoice over Alban's death. today i climbed the Cathedral named after him
