Conversations with the 8yo DM:

8yo DM: OK, make your final death saving throw. This is it.

Me: There is a good chance my character could die here.

8yo DM: If he dies, he dies.

Alt: a man with a lot of sweat on his face is saying if he dies, he dies - this is from Rocky IV.

I had never even heard of it until this video.

It never goes away. I find glitter in our house from decades ago and our house is only six years old.
redwyrm.bsky.social
Glitter is forever.
redwyrm.bsky.social
Glitter is our mortal enemy.
redwyrm.bsky.social
That is really cool.
redwyrm.bsky.social
True… but every DnD character I have ever seen that has an eye patch also has a nasty scar that makes them look cool.

Conversations with the 8yo DM:

8yo DM: You know, I have never heard of anyone complaining that a character with an eye patch could have just used healing magic to restore their lost eye.

Me: Good point.

8yo DM: Peg legs and pirate hooks also get ignored.

But that is how you play the long game and make your own dungeon master.

Tough decisions ahead.

I am the same way. I am completely comfortable making everything up for my own game and even improving the entire thing but I have no abilities to run a prewritten game.

Hope… 🎵no one arrives before you hit the skies 🎵

Hopefully it didn’t cause any major problems.

I don’t have any exes as I married my first girlfriend and I have never had to experience anything like that.

Conversations with the 8yo DM:

8yo DM: Your wizard is facing a new sea monster called The Dead and Bloated.

Me: Sounds like someone has been listening to STP.

8yo DM: No on here is “smelling like a rose”… these guys stink like rotting swamp gas.

Yes!! Great picture! Homeschool kids make the best GMs.

I imagine he is already casting the charm spell on everyone.
redwyrm.bsky.social
He has a rogue with 8 HP and had once played an AD&D Magic User that had 3 HP and only the sleep spell. He didn’t enjoy the Magic User because he got bored.

Oh wow! Congratulations! Beautiful baby.

Thanks for the recommendation and kind words. As someone who is visually impaired myself, I try hard to make my posts accessible, but I do on occasion slip up.
redwyrm.bsky.social
That is a good point.

I always try to include some decent alt text.

This is my favorite inn to drop into a game when the players are looking for a place to sleep for the night. It has plenty of seating and a large bar along with a gathering room on the second floor. Feel free to use this in your own games.
Two story floor plan of the Bubbling Cauldron. First floor has tables, a fireplace, a bar, and a kitchen. Second floor has a gathering room, bedrooms and a common sleeping room.

Haha! Dazed opponent gives Lurtz advantage and sneak attack damage.
redwyrm.bsky.social
Turns out, Lurtz was a min-maxed Ranger with all sorts of epic feats and a handful of Rogue levels to give him sneak attack damage with his poisoned arrows.

Conversations with the 8yo DM:

8yo DM: Boromir wasn’t very high level.

Me: What makes you say that?

8yo DM: Lurtz hit him with three arrows and he died. Even if they were all crits and Lurtz had an 18 Dex, he only took around 60 HP of damage. My 8th level Druid could have survived that attack.
