@renzas.bsky.social sharing that the foundation of what she's done has been in centering people with lived experience and elevating their role. Her values are about stepping up all the time . #DiabetesVoices #GDC2025 #DOC
This was Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago. FREEZING cold, but lovely and sunny.
I’ve been thinking of you, Rosemary. I will reach out. Thank you!
Thank you. (And so, so nice to see your name here!)
‘I now have arthritis. Is it because I am old? Or maybe just because I collect health conditions? Does it have anything to do with perimenopause? Is Mercury in retrograde? Whatever the reason, it sucks. And it hurts.

A new year and a new diagnosis. #diabetogenic

So, what’s new with you?
Is it too late to say Happy New Year? Probably, but does anyone actually believe that social norms still exist in the world the way it is these days? And so – happy New Year to you. I’ve been absen…

‘Since 2013, our diabetes community has measured love not by the roses we send, but rather by the ones we don’t. A single rose faded in a few days, but the impact of sparing one, and making a small donation can be life saving.’

Health literacy should be taught in elementary school....
Lets get radical....
‘We know knowledge is power. But that knowledge has to be grounded in fact. Misinformation isn’t going anywhere; neither are the people pushing it for profit & power. Who knew something as fundamental as health literacy could be such a radical act?’

Health literacy in the age of health misinformation
When the clock ticked over into 2025, I had no intention of even considering coming up with New Year’s resolutions that would shape my new year. But with all that is going on in the world, I’ve giv…

Not me tearing up on every Qantas flight during the safety video when the little boy shouts out ‘Nonno!’ and runs into his grandfather’s arms for a hug.
#SpareARose comes to BlueSky! Learn how a small donation to this community campaign which directly supports the charity Insulin for Life can save the life of a person with T1D.

My favourite meal: pasta ceci. Tin of chickpeas, some tomatoes (tinned fine) and some small pasta. I fancy it up by adding some rosemary from the garden crisped up in oil. (But only if I can be bothered.)
Doing the hard work in between sessions as I try to determine the superior bun: Kanelsnegle (cinnamon) or Kardemummabullar (cardamom). More work to do.
Greetings from very cold Copenhagen! I’m here for the World Diabetes Foundation meeting about T1D, along with a diverse group of clinicians, policy makers, researchers and, most importantly, people with diabetes.
I bought blue mascara today. Happy New Year from me and my 1980s eyelashes.
At this point of the year, I’m 90% crostoli and tiramisu. Not mad about it.
I just keep commenting ‘and tell me how is this making the world a better place for women and girls’ on all their bullshit articles.
Looks lush! I see pesto in your future.
I didn’t plant any this year, so it’s a bit stingy.
Leftovers dwindling. Time for a lot of this now… #SummerFood
