Have you seen your health insurance premiums skyrocket thanks to the GOP’s refusal to extend ACA tax credits for working families?

Share your story with me at tonko.house.gov/contact so my Democratic colleagues and I can keep fighting to lower your costs!

Moving forward, the United States must use all of its leverage to ensure all parties honor this agreement and continue to work towards permanently ending this decades-old conflict in a manner that allows for safety, dignity, and international recognition for both Israelis and Palestinians.

While this is an important first step, there is still much more work to do to bring a lasting and just peace to the region.

After two years of unfathomable violence, I welcome the announcement of a long overdue ceasefire agreement. I am hopeful that over the next several days hostages and prisoners will be released and unrestricted humanitarian aid will be able to reach suffering civilians in Gaza.

Yesterday, I returned a call from a Social Security employee in our Capital Region who is currently being forced to work without pay thanks to the GOP shutdown. I’m grateful for her words of encouragement, and I’ll keep fighting for her and all those suffering from this shutdown.

Here’s my message to the thousands of federal workers here in our Capital Region and beyond who have been furloughed, fired, or forced to work without pay thanks to this reckless GOP shutdown: I support you, and I’ll always keep fighting for you.

Even as Republicans refuse to do their jobs and reopen our government, my team and I are still hard at work for the people of our Capital Region – and my offices will remain open throughout this GOP shutdown. Got questions? Call us or click below!

Trump's DOE canceled billions in clean energy projects—including nearly $180 MILLION awarded to NY-20. This doesn't just hurt Democrats; this kills jobs, innovation, and economic growth.

While Trump is dead set on causing as much pain as possible in this GOP shutdown, I'll keep fighting back.
Tonko Slams Trump for Shutdown, Canceling $179 Million for Projects in New York’s Capital Region
The illegally terminated projects were previously appropriated by Congress in a bipartisan manner and were competitively selected. These projects were canceled despite the fact that DOE remains open and operational using unexpired financial resources in a government shutdown.

I’m back at work here in NY-20 after Republicans forced a government shutdown. They could end it today by passing a budget that protects health care, but instead they’re pushing to cut your care and raise your costs. Democrats are ready to reopen government & put families first.

Tonight, I'm wishing an easy and meaningful fast to all those observing Yom Kippur across our Capital Region and beyond. G'mar chatima tovah!

Republicans have control of the House, Senate, and presidency. They have the power to pass a budget that avoids a shutdown and prioritizes the wellbeing of working families.

Instead they're missing in action.

I'm here in DC to keep up the fight to protect the healthcare benefits Americans need.

On the heels of #WorldRiversDay, I introduced the bipartisan NY–NJ Watershed Protection Act to restore our rivers, improve water quality, and build climate resilience.

This bill will strengthen the health of our rivers and communities for decades to come.

The New York Power Authority's renewable energy plan demonstrates the leadership we need to meet New York's climate goals.

It is a step toward lowering electric bills and I urge NYPA to continue expanding.

I am proud to lead this effort with @reppaultonko.bsky.social and NY Democrats.
Letter to the President and CEO of the New York Power Authority in support of NYPA’s plan to develop 7 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030. Signed by several members of New York’s Democratic Congressional Delegation.

These cuts are a cruel insult to those living with pediatric cancer, their loved ones, and the dedicated doctors and nurses who serve them. That’s why I’ll keep fighting in Washington to deliver funding and support to these heroes – because everyone deserves a dose of hope.
reppaultonko.bsky.social
Funding for pediatric cancer research should be a bipartisan priority. But this year, I’ve been alarmed by deep cuts to Medicaid and NIH research that are impacting children’s hospitals, shutting down labs, and halting vital clinical trials for innovative new cancer treatments.

Today, I was honored to visit the Melodies Center at Albany Med to meet with staff, patients, and their families and to learn more about the lifesaving work being done here at our Capital Region’s only provider of care for children and teens with cancer and blood disorders.
