Getting ready to setup the new Raspberry Pi 500+ as my retro computer emulation station.
Thanks for the video. I pulled the trigger and ordered one, not because I NEED it, but because I’m gratefully they put together such a useful and nice product.
That was one of my favorites as a kid because it was easy to sit down and play a quick run or two. That still makes it great today.
Good to know. I hope it doesn’t come to that. Thank you.
I’m sure I checked the clock signal earlier, but the problem was intermittent and strange, so I guess the crystal finally gave up and died completely.
I think I finally figured out why the floppy was not working. I have two dead oscillators. The 24MHz crystal is dead, and it feeds the 82077AA floppy controller.

I also discovered the 14.1818MHz crystal is dead too. I can’t find that exact frequency, so I hope a 14.31818MHz replacement will do.
I tempted fate and bought a Bondi Blue iMac G3 from eBay. The plastic needed to be snapped back into position and some clips were broken. Amazingly, the fragile inner bezel looks to be in good shape from the outside. Sadly, it doesn’t start, so I’ll have to open it up and see what going on.
Is the right pad soldered on the 33uF cap?

When every PC had a lock, but you never really understood why.
Cool! I’m interested if you’re going to put some of these up for sale somewhere. 🤩
Oh no. This CD duplicator just showed up locally at a good price. I have no reason to be want one… yet…
I’ve got a springy long metal pin that came with mine. Of course, the spring is just something to hold onto since the rest of the pin shaft gets hot.
I’ll keep an eye out for that. That little board is a world of hurt.
You’re going to inspire me to get back to my collection of misfit IIsi.

It has felt like a bundle of frustrations just waiting to pull me in.
I took one apart years ago to prepare it for a new polarizer since it suffered from vinegar syndrome, then I never bought the polarizer material, so it has sat deconstructed. I now doubt my abilities to put it back together.

Ever wonder how hit CBS Show 'Whiz Kids' turns the stars into star hackers? Issue 1 of K-Power Magazine has the secret!
Looks cool! And your bench looks nice and tidy too.
I stopped by infinitemac.org for the first time in awhile, and I continue to be blown away by its features and finesse. It’s zero effort emulation with an unlimited software library.

Truly a technical work of art.
You’re very kind, and again a step ahead. I just hit the Buy Now button for the proper drive on eBay, but I’ll let you know if it lets me down. Thanks!
Well, @bigbadbiologist.bsky.social pointed out that the bezel looks like it fits a caddy drive. I hoped that I could remove the front fascia from the tray and it would magically fit, but no such luck.
Well, you’re right! You are a step ahead. The opening is just big enough for a caddy.

I thought the AppleCD 300 was a tray drive. I do have a have an external CD 150 (caddy model)…
I’m thrilled to have an official Apple CD mounting kit for my Quadra 650. We’ll see if it partners nicely with this SCSI Panasonic x2 CD-ROM.
