From Palestinian journalists who already lived there 🤦‍♂️
Wonderful journalism Sky! Keep holding this government to account!!!
Just found a first edition of the Satanic verses for £4 at Oxfam! I don’t think they at all knew what they had, especially given it was placed in the ‘history’ section 💀 📚💙 #booksky

UCU has written to Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson over the OfS’s damaging £585,000 fine against the University of Sussex.

This sets a dangerous precedent for free speech, inclusion, and university funding.
Our universities are not culture war battlegrounds.

At ease!
Calm down mate, it’s not the end of the world.
It’s rhetoric from the media and public like this that actually destabilises parties, not caucus practice - this would be far more difficult if Albo was the one to do this!
Sorry, 44 councils isn’t ‘big’, stop kidding yourself, the greens really need to get a grip and actually make more of a concerted effort to appeal to working people.
Reform are up by over 600 seats, 44 wouldn’t even be big under normal circumstances
Do better, and for gods sake Win Bristol next time
Latest results (78.6% of votes counted) (16 seats in doubt).

That’s something done every year for over 150 years mate 😹
Plenty of things to point out in the descent towards fascism, that’s not one of them!

You’re telling me that right wing voters that Labour was trying to appeal to voted for a right wing party anyway and left wing voters decided not to vote for Labour because they’re too right wing now? Who could have possibly predicted this.

The Coalition would cut $814 million out of foreign aid.

It's a decision that was described as "counterproductive and counterintuitive" by their own charities spokesperson just last week at the National Press Club.
Who’s ready for some big Labour losses today? 💀
I fear we teeter on the precipice of a truly abominable void.
As negative as it would be, I genuinely think the only hope this country has is the Labour Party toppling Starmer and expelling his comms & strategy team.
Prague is still too motor dependent to rank highly on your list imo, I’d also probably rank Barcelona as higher than Madrid!
There is a sad addiction to dopamine present in this phenomenon, you haven’t exposed yourself as a deviant, and there’s no problem with being one either,
but you may be on the track to becoming a gooner 😔

One of the most shocking things I have read for a while:

When the rights of one group get rolled back, everyone else’s are not far behind. You only have to look at America where anti-trans legislation is on the verge of allowing school sports teachers to check children’s genitals! Anti-trans rhetoric will hurt us all in the long run! #transright

It's been 51 days since ANY humanitarian aid has entered Gaza. Israeli Minister of Defense Katz has said: "Israel’s policy is clear: no humanitarian aid will enter Gaza."

This is a war crime.

We must end our complicity. NO more military aid for Netanyahu's war machine.
These last four essays at university have me feeling like the library's goblin.
The more I see the Union flag commodified on foodstuffs and in tacky souvenir shops, the more I feel a growing sense of apathy towards it as a symbol.
It has lost an amount of the beauty it once had in my eyes as a symbol of sensibility and stability.
I suspect the chaos of politics also has a role.
I’m not going to blindly agree with an infographic, but I don’t dispute that a large degree of the profits of Scottish industry went to the elite in London, just as it did across the rest of Britain and the empire.
That doesn’t come back to Scotland with independence though.
Makes most of London’s wealth Scotland’s? - that’s a stretch
I agree with redistribution, but in a scenario where Scotland becomes independent realistically all of that ‘Scottish’ wealth is going to have to move itself as making a policy based delineation of London’s wealth is neigh on impossible
Scotland has a population of 5 million, the UK as a whole has a population of 68 million, london alone has a population of 8 million, suggesting that ‘most’ of London’s wealth is somehow Scotland’s is hard/impossible to justify.
