(Time again to promote my two books, something I tend to forget to do regularly. 😟) If you like to collect all available facts and form your own opinion about Market Garden please visit my website pre-jump.nl. (I have no marketing department so a repost is really appreciated.)
A Bridge Too Far is a Hollywood view of Market Garden. My two books are based on facts, primary sources.
Why and where did Market Garden fail? Purchase Lost at Nijmegen. All Market Garden facts from primary sources? Purchase Little Sense of Urgency

After American forces had failed to capture the Dutch town of Overloon, #OTD in 1944, the British give it a try, and succeeded. The town is heavily defended by 107 Panzer Brigade, in operation Market Garden responsible for cutting the Allied lines for a short time. #WW2 #HISTORY

Has Hamas left Gaza already? Otherwise, it's just a reset.

The last two times I went to the Australian War Memorial, specifically to see G for George again, unfortunately both times the aircraft hall was under renovation and closed to the public.
Luckily, I'd visited before, and will hopefully visit again.
One of the world's great museums.

11th October 1938: First flight of the Westland Whirlwind. The most heavily armed single-seat fighter in the world when introduced, it was also faster than its contemporaries at low level. However, it suffered from poor performance at altitude.

Artwork from a vintage Airfix kit depicting a Westland Whirlwind. It’s a sleek twin inline-engined, single seat fighter with a distinctive ‘T’ position horizontal stabiliser at the top of its tailfin. Four 20mm cannon, belching fire, protrude beyond the propeller spinners. The aircraft is depicted flying above a layer of cloud, through which a column of brownish smoke is ascending. Another Whirlwind can be seen in the background.
