After being diagnosed with "stress" and "eating Xmas ornaments causes red-dyed vomit" Yuri also was booked for a dental the end of this month, so feel free to share my book links with your friends, family, exes, neighbours, and that creepy woman around the corner who keeps insisting she needs hugs.

You're responding to a post, about how a certain kind of atheist is prone to proselytizing similar to a certain kind of Christian, with "US tolerant people are not fun".

How exactly am I meant to interpret this apart from you insisting that that kind of atheist is tolerant?

Does responding to Jews talking about being harassed by a particular kind of atheist with more harassment strike you as particularly tolerant?
rhianthialritak.bsky.social
It happens Every Single Time.

Like are this particular brand of extremely annoying Christian atheist just searching "atheist" in the search tab to find Jews to get mad at?
rhianthialritak.bsky.social
Bluesky is fun bc a Jewish person can post something like this and then a whole bunch of those exact kind of atheists all summon themselves to prove her point

Atheist proselytizers are the religious proselytizers I’m most likely to come into contact with and they’re just as annoying as all of the other ones I experience

Lrs: if nothing else part of the propaganda & how they recruit is convincing themselves that being in ICE makes you a badass. You can't make that pitch to people when the first thing they think of when they hear the word is "guys getting mad at an inflatable frog dancing at them".

And it's unfair to both groups to expect one group to give up their access wholesale so the other can have complete access at all times.

You want to go after people for not using alt text? Go after companies and influencers who can afford to hire someone specifically to do that.
rhianthialritak.bsky.social
A group of people need alt text to access images on social media

But another group of people need to be able to not provide alt text when they don't have the energy to write it to be able to use social media at all

Those are conflicting access needs
rhianthialritak.bsky.social
I think disablity spaces online would be generally better if we acknowledged the existence of conflicting access needs

"Mark Bray was teaching courses on the early modern witch craze. Turning Point USA accused him of being a witch, which he denies."

you'd think a prominent news outlet like the New York Times might mention that "antifa" isn't an actual organization in a long story about antifa, but nope!

and the subhead helps props up a false claim this professor was up to something seedy as something up for debate
NYT headline: "Rutgers Expert on Antifa Tries to Flee to Spain After Death Threats"

subheadline: "Mark Bray was teaching courses on antifascism. Turning Point USA accused him of belonging to antifa, which he denies. His flight to Spain was canceled abruptly on Wednesday night."

People often try much harder to hold individual disabled people just posting w their friends online to an alt text standard that they should be holding corporations and extremely famous influencers to.
rhianthialritak.bsky.social
Bluesky has a culture around alt-text that I think can be and often is actually really ableist.

Farm bankruptcies are back in the news, so it's time to pull this chart out again.

Hey look they kept rising during Trump's first term. Then they went way down under Biden.

Now they're up again? So weird. Thanks Farm Bureau for the graphic
Screenshot from Farm Bureau article on farm bankruptcies. It shows farm bankruptcies climbing steadily 2014-2020, falling by half in 2021, & continuing to fall through 2023.

Like I basically never want to click on my own board and be shown a bunch of recommendations pinterest thinks I should put on it actually

It made me so bad I sent feedback via the help box and left a negative review

Annual COVID Vaccines Protect People against Severe Disease, Even with Prior Immunity

"The new research also “calls into question the idea that younger individuals and those without risk factors don’t need the vaccine,” Viswanathan says."
