I didn't switch to Bluesky because I want to avoid right wing people with different opinions. I mainly want to get away from constant weird adverts, abusive comments, and a perverted algorithm that amplifies misinformation and hate speech.

It's laughable how many ignorant Christians genuinely think their saviour was literally called Mr Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and therefore the "Name of Jesus!" holds some mythical powers. Jesus Christ wasn't his name at all, it was Yeshua ben Yosef.

That would absolutely destroy the basis of British entrepreneurism, which is fragile as it is. Limited liability is meant to allow companies to innovate and fail. It's not meant to protect fraudsters like in this case.

Actually the Equalities Act was quite sloppily written, with wording that was open to interpretation. That's why the SC came to the judgement they did. It's the government's responsiblity to tighten the law to protect trans rights. For some gods unknown reason, they won't.

If you read the Supreme Court judgement they deliberately made it apply very narrowly. It's Starmer's government who have allowed the EHRC and other organisations to apply it widely. Starmer could've clarified, or proposed better guidance, or updated the law. He didn't. This is all his fault.

I agree, it's shit. And of course men can lie to trick women into bed for all kinds of reasons and not face any legal penalties. Sending her to prison is completely wrong.

Presumably it will be something in your Gov.uk app. I'm not against it, but he's made such a mess of the announcement now I suspect it will never happen. There are very good reasons to introduce it, but immigration is not one of them.

The legal justification is that she misled him and that denied his consent. But does that warrant prison? Given that a man who claims to be a wealthy businessman to get a woman into bed doesn't? It's completely out of proportion.

They mean sex assigned at birth, ie your genes which are immutable, as opposed to your identity as a man or a woman.

Of course having 'biologically male' XY genes doesn't mean you aren't a woman, having XX 'female' genes doesn't make you not a man.

I don't make the law, I'm just clarifying the law as it stands in this case.

As I said: no, you don't have to disclose being trans. But she told him they couldn't have vaginal intercourse because she was on her period. That was judged to be active deception, and therefore negated his consent.

You're right, the law says you don't have to disclose you're trans to have consensual sex with someone.

But if you actively lie about your sex and set out to deceive (as she did in this case), that negates their informed consent. We might disagree but that's the law as it stands.
