Art was never just about the content. If it was, then what was the point?

This modern concept of everything created being nothing more but content has poisoned our perspective on why a thing is so special. We were fed so much slop that a steak marinated for a whole day tastes like chips.

They'll always say "why would we care about the artist when all we care about is the content", and yet they can't deny that most artworks are only worth so much because of who the artist was.
