oh fuck wait it says "charred in an inferno" too and asgore and toriel both use fire magic in undertale... fuuuuuuck...
i'm ill!

anyways i think asgore somehow makes a dark world fueled by jealousy in an attempt to lure in toriel to try and get her back and maybe that ends in his arrest i dunno

asgore holding onto a shadow crystal makes me think he will end up being a boss of some sort in chapter 5, and i think the events of the chapter will end in asgore getting arrested (either for the trouble he might cause in the chapter or for the investigation he is doing.)

i definitely associate gold with the golden buttercups that asgore kept in undertale. looking into the inferno of jealousy part is interesting... Now I Start My Crack Theory. i think the jealousy will be asgore's jealousy and it will stem from the fact that toriel and sans are getting closer.

each of the other chapters of the lord of the hammer described by gerson corresponded to a chapter of deltarune. which makes me think that chapter 5 could possibly take place in asgore's flower shop... because when i think of a pink and GOLD field and a GARDEN i think it just makes sense.

in the chapter 4 secret boss fight with the hammer of justice... gerson describes chapter 5 of the lord of the hammer as the "field of pink and gold. the vast garden is charred in an inferno of jealousy."

- the prophecy states that "the flower man will be imprisoned."

okay now completely disregarding everything i just said (not really)

- his desire to absolve himself comes from the fact he wants to have a happy family again. he wants to be a happy family.
- during the soul section in noelle's house. snooping on asgore allows you to inquire that asgore has a "dark shard". this is likely a shadow crystal.

- he has a corkboard in the back of his store with tons of papers scattered around. it can be assumed he is doing detective work to try and clear his own name for whatever he did that got him fired from the police force. this event likely also caused the falling out with toriel.

this is what we know so far:
- asgore works at a flower shop, but makes very low income. he is working for carol holiday as a cleaner/gardener of sorts so carol will help keep his shop afloat.
- asgore was dispatched from the police force at some point in time. the reason for which is still unknown.
