Cat Tales – Zeus

I trapped him on a rainy night in an industrial site. He tested positive for FIV/FeLV. We adopted him into our home to care for him. He was very feral and at least 15 years old, and I think he was glad to be off the street, warm, dry, comfortable and well-fed.

A close-up photograph of a sitting, longhair gray cat looking intently at the camera from behind the black, wire fencing of his large, walk-in cage. His green eyes seem to be looking into the soul of the viewer. Sitting in profile, his back is to the bright sunlight streaming in from a window just out of frame, creating a brilliant backlight illuminating every long hair that defines the shape of his back, his head, ears and whiskers.

This photo was taken the first day he let me pick him up 22 July 2022. He was still quite sick with cat flu & conjunctivitis. The vet said, like many wild strays, he had chronic FCV & FHV, which he still carries (lifelong). A stress free life is now essential for him to stay well.

It took twice daily feeding for 2½ months before Billy boy let me get near him & another 1½ months b4 I could pick him up.
Then it was off to the vet.

Memories of Past Cats 🌈

This is Emma.
I trapped her and her four kittens living inside the large and incredibly noisy HVAC enclosure that serviced the office building in which I worked. We adopted the family into our home; safe, warm and fed.

A close-up, headshot photograph of a brown tabby sitting on an east-facing windowsill catching the morning sunshine. She is looking directly at the camera with the bright sunlight highlighting the left side of her face, and accentuating the beautiful celadon green of her eyes.
