I agree. The low angle of deep shadow tells us without a clock, too, that it's early morning or late afternoon light.

When shooting still life for photography in a studio, I'll set my lights low to mimic the same, and let the viewer choose dawn or dusk.
This is particularly striking.
This is one I've had saved but not yet made –– I found it appealing because it says it really lets the cider flavor shine. Not really a quick bread, though, and does have butter and egg. 😔

Apple Cider Donut Bread
We look forward to freshly fried apple cider donuts from the local orchard all year long, but now we'll be making this Apple Cider Donut Bread anytime the craving hits!

Thanks, Jaime!
I’m hoping to print this for hanging here at the house, as memory maker of all the time spent in my favorite other place on the planet, the #borderlands.
Thank you – I learned a lot out there, night after night, experimenting with settings, exposure times, and locations.
That's for sure. There are always ways to fill the urge and be creative.
Hey Carol, thank you! I so miss being out there, though love where I am now, too.
I know. When I was a kid we could lay in fields at night, far from city lights, and look at the Milky Way. Not this vibrant, though. Where I made this image is the darkest night sky in the United States. More stars than one can imagine.

Yeah, we are very insignificant in the greater scope of life.
One of my favorite night sky images, shot in the Chihuahuan Desert. This is a single frame image, no stacking or double exposure, all done in camera and on-site.

Those are 12-14' tall Giant Spanish Dagger Yuccas, side lit by a semi-tractor as it turned a bend.

Nope, it's a joyful escape, both literally and mentally, from the horrors that is ICE at the hands of the most corrupt and unlawful administration this nation has ever seen.
I may try that on some, though limit the amt of wood product unless only as top dressing, as it can use up a lot of nitrogen in decomposition, and some are allelopathic. I have a 3 section compost bin that gets full of very rich green/brown mix. Always gets mixed in before new plantings.
Heya Alyse, nice to see you! The greenhouse plastic is att'd to long strips of wood, tho not fastened to the bed. Then bungeed over the top near each hoop. I can lift it a little or a lot, stays in place, or raise both sides for warm days. I use horse manure & grass clippings, and black milk jugs.
Dang, that looks scrumptious!
Hey hey, Shiboof – like chopping wood, warms you in more ways than one. We get the biggest kick out of sitting down to a meal comprised almost completely from veggies and fruits from our gardens.
Hiya, Suzette! You're welcome. I love documenting it all, too, both for the retrospective look and history of the garden, but to have images I can use to illustrate articles and blog posts for future website.
Hey Jean – with a proper jig, you can literally pull the long end of 1/2" metal conduit around the arch with one finger. Simple, strong, and effective. Last year's experiment with the plastic pex piping for hoops worked well, though could not hold up to heave snow loads. This will.
Hey Carolannie – the beauty of it all – the colors, freshness, mental planning, and wholesome outdoor work are all so good my mind & soul. It's literally keeping me sane and giving me hope.
I devised a simple jig for bending the metal conduit into the desired radius. Also figured a quick easy, sturdy, way to attach them to my raised beds. If anyone is interested, I'll post up more about that process as I have time.

Have I told ya how much I love my #SanityGarden here on #theMicrofarm?
All of which should, hopefully, extend my growing season so that the second heads of cabbage (which grow from the stalk after main head is harvested) and my 2nd plantings of beans etc have better chance to mature.

All great fun experimenting with for fresh wholesome food for #theMicrofarm table. 3/
Each layer of greenhouse cover is said to add a zone, so our 5b zone will now be like zone 7 for the raised beds.
I'm switching the tall cattle panel arches on the low beds to include the beds inside & will double wall them, too. That will give me 68 lineal feet of beds w/184sqft under cover. 2/
Prepping #theMicrofarm 's 3 tall raised garden beds for cold weather. I bent & installed 1/2" EMT conduit in 1/2 hoops to support UV resistant greenhouse cover. Inside that will be last year's red Pex hoops supporting IRAD greenhouse cover, creating double-walled protection. 1/

Right now it's full of harvested dill (for seeds) and fresh basil!
An unmistakable style, Saul Leiter has.
Oh my...I know that smell well, Jean.
I once traded an afternoon's worth of work for a homemade low-sugar peach cobbler.
