authentic if he'd foregone the twist and instead adjusted the story so that Belinda was ALWAYS a mum trying to get home to her daughter. No unnecessary twist, just that very human thing of a mum trying to get home to her daughter. What's more relatable and moving than that? [3/3]
I think RTD traded a "big twist" for an emotionally resonant and more realistic character arc. Instead of the double "twist" where the Doctor has a daughter and then doesn't because Poppy was "always" Belinda's, her narrative arc could have been so much simpler, more powerful and more ... [2/3]
SPOILERS, SWEETIE! As a superfan of #DoctorWho, and someone who's dreamed of writing an episode, there are some fair criticisms of the finale, but the most valid one concerns Belinda's ending. I'd argue that one simple change would've made the audience much happier with the finale. [1/3]
