The reboots are mostly about renewing their IP. That's why you'll get a weird little movie every so often with them all shoehorned in. They don't care if it doesn't make a ton of money, so long as they don't lapse into the public domain.

I do recall seeing a Cthulhu-style supplement for Bunnies and Burrows a few whiles back.

All seasons are spooky if one is a small and delicious bunny.

Oooh, extra fluffy skunkie..?

The correct response - even if Someone Is Wrong On The Internet - is to bow politely and thank your opponent for their time.

There was an old Shoe comic, in which the characters are bullshitting at Scrabble, to various degrees of eyerolling and "Sure whatever"s. Finally:
"Kradingle? That's not a word!"
"Ahem. Kradingle. (n) A jagged outcropping of rock, usually limestone."

My grandfather was an English professor. He would *chortle* when he got a particularly absurd word. Completely different from his usual laugh, it signaled something absolutely amazing was about to hit the table.

Beat me to it.

That said, any word used whose meaning can be immediately grasped by a listener of average processing power should be used freely.

And a petty thug's idea of a mafia don.
He doesn't want to be king. Kings make rules. He wants to *break* rules. To be untouchable by laws or justice.

He's never *needed* anything else.
Money? That's not real, that's just how you keep score. How you tell the winners from the losers.

He has this 'heroic' view of things, where 'important' people do big and dramatic things and everyone loves them (unless they're their enemies). So it makes a whole lot of sense he would equate an award given to someone for making the world a better place to going to Heaven.

On the gripping hand, yay synthwave!

Wow... that makes a LOT of sense. I wasn't aware that it counted as an Indulgence.

He's always wanted a 'win', something that he could say that he did that nobody else could. But he's botched things at every possible turn.

View from my tent this morning. Very lovely.

Also some yellow friends.
A vew out of a tent into a forested campground, with a chair and some LARP supplies visible. Two banana slugs on the forest floor Close up of a banana slug. About six inches long.

Has he always been this level of pretentious symbolism, or is this whole thing new?
