A lot of folk think we’re upto our eyeballs in it, but its minimal to me, compared to the 50’s. I wish that politicians accepted we just came through a war (against Covid) and if we’re investing in growth we can borrow more. I can accept us not shooting the messenger (OBR), but the bond market is hardly some impartial or altruistic observer. It may send signals, but that doesn’t make it a messenger, its an actor first and one that we should always be willing to call out.

Mrs Thatcher deregulated our excellent public bus services in the 80s. Today services are run by shitty companies like Stagecoach. We can’t afford subsidies for folk who need it because we subsidise CEO, Claire Miles’ £2 million salary. She’s the real benefit scrounger.

What I’d like to know is who broke the story and decided not to mention it? If they weren’t aware, its unforgivable incompetence and if they were, they’re corrupt and malicious. Last time I looked interfering with a public inquiry is a criminal offence. The police should investigate immediately.
