I needed a normal name for a normal guy in a normal-adjacent modern setting. I didn’t think it would be this hard!

Clip from the RPGBOT.Podcast’s recent arc on how to play Hunter: the reckoning.

She described various poultices and tonics. Honestly, pretty vanilla swamp witch fare.

From the RPGBOT.Podcast: How to Play Hunter: The Reckoning. The party encounters a strangely familiar NPC with some helpful information and a weird name.

And that's where we're calling it! Another very satisfying session. Next week: we hunt monsters! Again! I can't wait!

With dollars in our eyes, we're all now perusing Archives of Nethys. My character has literally never bought an item (new spells excluded).

On our way to the hunting lodge we met a dubious local woman named Helga. She might be a witch or something.

We asked if she needed anything, and she's asking us to sell her goods in town for her. Our GM is offering us a two-month (in game) investment setup with a 20% return. It's a good deal!

GM: "Next session... it's going to be a bit of an event."

Well, I'm hyped. I'm going to make sure we've got some new toys to throw around first.

During the party we recieved a note from our new adventurer friends. Jamel is leading a hunt in monster-infested lands based out of that hunting lodge where we killed the trolls. Sounds like we found sme plot!

With our immediate troubles sorted, we've decided to throw a party! Our friendly local NPCs are in attendance and, for the first time in a while, we're not under active threat from something. Time to catch our breath.

The adventurers took their leave. I think there's some nonsense coming involving resource points and horses.
rpgbot.bsky.social
The adventurers seem surprised that we took an interest in the algae, and that their horse's face turned into a tropiary.

I'm talking up the archer. His name is either Jamal or Jamel, and the adventure has it spelled both ways right next to each other. He's surprised that we killed the trolls who were living in the homestead that he and his friends were renovating. With their home now safe, they'll leave in the morning

The bard has friends with her. An archer and two generic sellswords. It seems that an entire adventuring party has wandered into our tavern.

The bar is being entertained by a bard by the name of Anemony or something like that. The locals are very impressed, and she's very pretty.

I hate her. I might make lutes illegal. Get out of my bar, get out my town. The only acceptable musics are screaming and arson.

People were happy about the trolls being dead, but we got directed to our local bar, The Nightowlbear.
rpgbot.bsky.social
With our long-standing foes defeated, we're now returning to our capital city with trophies taken from the trolls. We're hoping for a hero's welcome.

GM: "The river, despite being running water, has a layer of strangely colored algae. Note +5 Research Points."

Us: "+5 what?"

GM: "Don't worry about it."
rpgbot.bsky.social
We're searching the compound. The horse had ample food, but no water, so it's been letting itself out of the barn to visit a nearby creek.

Rogue: "Were these trolls involved in crimes of any kind?"

GM: "Around the coumpound you find washbasins. Reaching down into the suds, you find a collection of copper pieces. The trolls were.... money laundering.
rpgbot.bsky.social
The trolls now defeated, we set about the time-honored tradition: looting the bodies.
rpgbot.bsky.social
GM: "Hargulka falls dead. The horse bursts out of the barn and leaps over Screm. Its chest roils, it neights, vines burst from its nostrils, and it flees into the forest."

I KNEW HORSES WERE TROUBLE. GOBLINS KNEW THE WHOLE TIME.

GM just instituted a new house rule: if you roll a Hero Point and reroll the exact same result, increase the level of success by one.

This will have a massive effect on our game.

GM: "The troll is at 1 hit point"
