I am not overly familiar with the community so I cannot comment in detail, but I have heard from others who are more familiar than there ARE people who have written stories that explore the setting from a more critical perspective and outside the bounds of the rules, and yet they've been kicked from

Yeah. Like, if there's stories out there that aren't my vibe, that's fine, but strongly discouraging/actively forbidding any works that might explore the darker parts is what I take issue with. I have no problem with any authors or stories in the community, I primarily take issue with THAT aspect.

Like, have no dog in this fight, but beyond any other criticisms: It'd be way hotter if the Affini were textually evil and have way more sauce if critically engaging with the setting wasn't forbidden/discouraged
