Yup! Just standard old pigs that people raised for meat that got loose. But since people have been raising hogs in the US for like 400 years, a LOT of them have got out. Turns out, they're well adapted to breed fast and adapt to their environment at incredible rates!
But yes, with enough money, you can use an M60 or and M134 to kill hogs and live out your fantasies of being a Vietnam era helicopter door-gunner. But damn, that's pricy!!!
You can basically do whatever you want. I know people that trap them, detonate 30lbs of Tannerite when there's a sounder of 30 pigs around a bait dump, and folks that will take you spear hunting. Yeah, you can pay $200 to jump from a tree and spear a hog to death. Or use a knife if you're ballsy.
