This govt are politically naive. They’ve said Brexit is the cause of all our problems but then refused to try to reverse it with their red lines.

It’s like taxes, they’ve snookered themselves. Far from being a genius, McSweeney is obviously a fool that can’t think very far.

Thank you for this, David, last time I wrote to my MP about this, she forwarded it to the Treasury and some understudy minister replied without addressing the point. Time for another letter. #BBCQT never seems to come to this area so we need people to start challenging panellists every Thursday.

Given that 3 of the panel were far right, unless you add Bruce too, and 2 of the panel were not (Labour/Zach), does anyone remember QT have a majority non-right panel? I can’t.

Including a rant from Richard Tice entirely designed to distract from Reform and Russia.

Starmer’s people keep referring to the conference speech which sounded, in parts, progressive.

However, in all other areas he’s replacing progressives with either people from the Tony Blair Institute and former Tory advisers.

Another surprise from Question Time, they’ve got someone from Tufton Street on the panel again. They usually try to pass them off as journalists for the Telegraph because they’ve written once.

Normally when a wealth tax is raised, Fiona Bruce has a minor conniption. Maybe she’s had therapy now.

I know Larry Elliott was in favour and still is. I find it strange that anyone intelligent can be so self defeating.

This is a tragedy. The poor poor woman, it’s so unfair being wealthy!

I live in a wealthy area and it’s pathetic, people around here act as though they’re impoverished with their portfolios of properties, shares and children at private schools. Any chance of free stuff and it’s a feeding frenzy.

I used to support the BBC and think it was a national asset. Not anymore, I would support any proposal to decriminalise the licence fee.

Is Lisa Nandy the most ineffective Secretary of State or is she being prevented by higher ups from taking action? As McSweeney runs govt, what does he think?

Paul Marshall, the billionaire owner of GB News, is quite happy to keep shelling out because it gives him power politically.

Why do Labour ministers keep appearing despite the hostile coverage? If ministers boycotted GB News, it would lose even more money pressuring Paul Marshall. Same with X.

After his grubby deal with Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, Starmer has made it clear that there will be no #Leveson2 or investigation of the behaviour of the media.

Moreover, the senior staff at Ofcom have not changed since the Tories nobbled them so we can’t expect any improvement anytime soon.

You may think that, however, the NHS paid out £550million to the 6 largest private providers of eye care in the last year. They took 40% of that as profit and interest to pay back to private equity bosses.

Now tell me that private finance is not welcome in the NHS. It’s a business bonanza.

This is risible nonsense. It’s far worse than that, 15 years of dreadful political decisions, by mainly the Tories, have put all of our lives in danger.

In Britain, a G7 country, woe betide you if you need medical care. We have some of the most excellent medical staff working in a broken service.
