There was rational, relatively neutral media then. Now we have oligarchs controlling traditional media as well as something we didn’t have—social media.

Like yours, my dad (and late mom) went from mostly-tolerable to MAGA once they and their cronies became addicted to #FOXycontin .
I too haven’t the bandwidth, haven’t spoken to him in months since I tore into his twisted ideology. Then he texts how are you like the world is all just peachy.
