I was proud to speak about my efforts on improving early literacy rates and our success in bringing free school meals to all our Massachusetts students, among other education priorities I have for my district and the state.

The Commissioner requested this visit at the Berkowitz School in Chelsea so he could learn from our outstanding educators how they have created such a fantastic learning environment for all our children.
Great discussion about education and our impressive Chelsea school system with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Commissioner, Pedro Martinez, along with teachers, students, and families.

Entrepreneurship through Acquisition: Expanding Access to Business Ownership
The Massachusetts State Treasury’s Small Business Initiative (SBI) team, in collaboration with M&T Bank, is hosting free webinars designed to equip small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with practical tools for success.
My constituents and all our neighbors are lucky to have these extraordinary people working to support those in need across our communities.

I want to congratulate my friend and La Colaborativa's President/CEO, Gladys Vega, for delivering a powerful and moving keynote speech during the event.
I also celebrated another honoree and constituent, Jose Iraheta, who serves as the Co-Director of Community Building at The Neighborhood Developers where he advocates for housing as a fundamental right.
Anna is a dedicated Community Advocate and Educator at Cambridge Economic Opportunity Committee. We presented the citations and recognized her with her son and family by her side.
It was great celebrating all the honorees at the The Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus’ Latino Excellence on The Hill ceremony. It was an honor to nominate my constituent, Anna Minaya.
This important event helped raise awareness about the threats many of our friends and neighbors face and how we can best advocate for and protect those people who are most vulnerable.

I want to thank my friend and colleague, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, for bringing together advocates, community leaders, and elected officials for a community forum about ICE in our neighborhoods.
We are all incredibly grateful for the essential work of Massachusetts nurses and I want to thank these individuals who took time out of their busy lives to advocate for critical legislation that will improve healthcare for workers and patients!

I'm so glad my team was able to meet with professionals and constituents from the American Nurses Association Massachusetts. I always want to learn more about the important needs and legislative priorities of our nurses and how I can be supportive of their efforts.
I am proud to cosponsor and support this transformative proposal. My colleagues and I listened to testimony from individuals who are struggling and advocates on the front lines trying to support those in need amid the federal cuts that the Trump administration has proposed.
I joined constituents from Cambridge and across my district at the @raiseupma.bsky.social event to highlight my support of the Corporate Fair Share bill, S.2033, which would make corporations pay the taxes they rightfully owe and bring in needed resources for public services across our state.
It's always great seeing Gladys Vega (La Colaborativa's President & CEO), Liliana Patino (Eliot Family Resource Center), María Belén Power (the MA Undersecretary of Environmental Justice), Chelsea City Manager, Fidel Maltez, along with so many other wonderful friends.
The energy was palpable at Governor Maura Healey's Latino Empowerment Advisory Council Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month Celebration at the State House.

I will continue to fight for this legislation until it is signed into law so all our children can protect their health, form respectful relationships, and build the bright futures they deserve.
Massachusetts youth deserve the most accurate and inclusive information, resources, and skills needed to make decisions about their health, without judgement.
This bill would ensure that Massachusetts public schools electing to teach sex and relationship education will use age-appropriate, medically accurate, and research-based information that covers a comprehensive range of topics.
One of my top bills, the Healthy Youth Act (S.340), was heard once again this week in front of the Committee on Education. I had the opportunity to testify in support of this legislation as well as listen to testimonies surrounding this bill.
