Tried out a new pulling technique in my pottery wheel. Used both hands outside the pot to pull the clay up. It works! Black porcelain with a matcha matte shino glaze.

Disease. Illness. Attacks on the body at the microspoic level. Recent hospital trauma has left its mark on my psyche. In this piece, I tried to capture that moment of infection. The texture was made with real teeth. Imagine being devoured.

Decided to try out carving a ceramic piece straight from a fresh block of clay. No wheelthrowing, no handbuilding, no coiling. Just carving. It was exhilarating.

My Dia de los Muertos sculpture. Mixed media. The skull is made from wild ceramic clay harvested from my backyard fired to Cone 06. Painted designs made with acryllics. The flower is poly clay. The stem and leaves are copper wire.
