kaiser gets to college and realizes that he was hung up on absolutely nothing.

i feel like when i was in hs i fixated a lot on unimportant things. i still do in college but thats now because of my anxiety which is a different flavor of making a big deal out of things

fuck i forgot to mention. reason why he cant jump a grade now is 1) high school is actually getting pretty damn hard 2) itd make the truth get out 3) the classes hes bad at, he cant find a way to speed it up without failing which ig is same as 1 but more descriptive.

i just know ness's fam are hardcore haters of christmas and ness would love the candles and lights and sparkly things and treats and stories about it. hell bring along little decorations and noa buys a tree bc otherwise ness will buy a scrawny twiggy thing and hell leave the tv playing xmas specials

noa doesnt celebrate kaisers birthday and kaiser prefers it that way. however, noa does light candles and together they eat cake that kaiser picked out. for christmas's sake of course. and ness is there because his family doesnt celebrate christmas (jesus is a figment of imagination, alexis)

noa gives kaiser an allowance in exchange for chores. initially kaiser hoarded it but then as he grew more secure he spent it all on tattoos. noa shrugged. he has his own tattoos, and they dont look half as clean as kaisers. he wishes kaiser didnt make his tats so flashy but oh well. removal exists

hes not going to pretend hes some sort of father figure to kaiser, the adoption just makes it easier for legal matters (somehow, idk shit about adoption).

ness comes over to their house a lot. noa knows of ness's parents. they aren't great but they dont ping the mandated reporter in him

noa sees himself in kaiser but hes lost most of that baggage a long time ago. his past does help him get some idea of what kaiser needs tho.

he is stable and his rules are logical and clearly defined. he will give him a house with food and water and power and he wont take it away unexpectedly

ik that snuffy took lorenzo in for his footballing but im pretty sure it was out of grief. theres no way he looked at a dying boy and thought 'soccer time'. soccer was an excuse. lorenzo ofc doesnt understand that tho so he tries to make himself lovable and easy to take care of so hes not abandoned

(sometimes i think about the fact that noa brought kaiser to the nel make him grow stronger. he didnt gaf about loki or bunny, he cared about kaiser. he wanted to see kaiser try to dethrone him.)

anyways back to the au. noa is thinking abt formally adopting kaiser and is saving for his college fund

so yoichi coming in, being good at math and psych and soccer, rubs kaiser the wrong way and so he does pick on him and fears being replaced with someone whos less damaged.

noa may not show his love for kaiser very well but theyll have to pry kaiser out of his cold dead hands

kaiser is paranoid about noa ditching him, esp since he's no longer a minor. its irrational but he feels like whenever he fails a math problem noa is one step closer to dropping him because noa acts like its super easy, so maybe it is and kaisers just an idiot. this makes him worse at math.

kaiser got kicked out of his last hs for fighting 1 week in so noa reluctantly made him go to the hs he teaches at and kaiser got to build up a whole new persona and spent 3 years at bllk hs

sae switched high schools because 'the football program here is trash' and rin bitterly swore to prove him wrong

lorenzo has a learning disability and barou gives him notes for extra credit. lorenzo's guardian, snuffy, is some rich hotshot who offered to let lorenzo take the rest of hs online or get a tutor but lorenzo didn't like being cooped up alone. he was made to talk and socialize

ness loves the reading aspect of english but hates the essay writing (persuasive, argumentative, etc) but likes creative writing. spanish, he likes because he can make poems and stuff. he dislikes math but hes decent ish at it. he dislikes his bio class even more and is barely passing

kaiser is amazing at english, history, spanish (foreign lang req, german not an option), and psychology. he's trash at chemistry and even worse at math

isagi (17, 11th grade) is mid at english and bio, good at history and psych, great at math, dying in spanish. rivals w kaiser in psych

theres no consequences to him hiding his age, not exactly. theres no possible way it could be revealed bc no one talks to a dusty old man like noa, and kaiser doesn't have any friends here unless you count ness, and ness wouldn't give a shit if kaiser was 10000 years old.

but it is a vulnerability

he pretends that he wasn't counting on his fingers and figuring out what multiplication was when his peers were learning trigonometry and precalculus, he pretends that he doesn't spend hours with noa on his math homework, and he pretends that he is smarter than his peers and always has been.
