Energy wealth ? I think that bird has flown 🙂

'Same old shit' 😂
And hopefully more to come in November 👍

Would just have continued as before.
GDP growth driven by immigration, wages among the lower paid under pressure. For countries like Germany we would have continued being 'Treasure Island'. Large areas of the UK starved of investment while £billions net flowed out to develop Poland's economy 🙂

GDP per capita was almost exactly the same in 2016 as it was in 2010. GDP had gone up but the increase in immigration meant that individually we were no better off in the UK.
Brexit had an effect after 2016 but since 2020 we are again on an increasing trend (as we were before 2008) 🤔

'The Times' writes they are 'expected to argue' and people jump on it like it's something they actually said because it suits their agenda.
Such quality in today's journalism ☹️

If you look at World Bank data being a member of the EU did little for UK growth (GDP/capita) post 2008. The actual exit did hit UK growth (probably a 2% hit to GDP). Lack of capital investment is probably a more significant factor in the last decade 🤔

What happened to the guy who gave him his heart ? 🤔

I don't think anyone is proposing larger charges for the majority of people. Both from an economic (inflationary) and popularity point of view that wouldn't work. Surely the purpose is to make someone with a £10m house pay more than £1m house ? Would have the same right of appeal as anyone else 🤔

The only thing you really know in Economics is that if you keep forecasting crashes then one day you will be right 😂

Struggle to understand with this need to re-value all houses. We already have a pretty good system working over the last 30 years. Various appeals all sorted. Surely the only thing needed is some new higher bands, so just re-value everything in Band H and add I, J and K 🤔

Oh yeah. Forgot about those massive Economic benefits. Such a great improvement post 2008 that everybody in the UK was so much better off. And people wonder why there was a majority to Leave 😂

Aren't they two different things ?
The new EU system is really about controlling overstaying by tracking entry and exit.
The UK 'ETA' is an electronic visa waiver, which the EU will have in late 2026 when it introduces 'ETIAS'.
The UK doesn't have an in/out tracking system (yet) 🤔

You are right. We don't have to find the Taxes to pay for EU Membership anymore. According to the House of Commons Library in 2020 below 🤔

If you actually travel you will see there are multiple terminals. Folkstone for example has 224. Arriving at an overseas Airport you will see rows of terminals. A lot better than two booths each with a passport stamper and a long queue for each 🤔

One travel agent recommends turning up 4 hours early rather than 2 hours and you quote that rather than the 'expected' a couple of extra minutes 😂
And after the first time it will be considerably quicker 🤔

Would us staying in the EU have made much difference to this ?
Not everything is due to Brexit 🤔
sammaclaine.bsky.social
In the YouGov 'issues' survey the 'Relationship with the EU' is 15th out of 16 issues that concern people. Since 2022 it has dropped off a cliff 🤔

'expected to argue'
Complete fabrication from the Times and all the lets Rejoin people jump on it like it's a leaving train 😂
The Government is going to take 18 months to do a relatively straightforward negotiation on an SPS deal, just on agri-food products, and maybe a bit of Youth Mobility 🤔
sammaclaine.bsky.social
The UK had elections in 2024 and arguably the new Labour Government is more pro-Ukrainian than it's predecessor 🤔
sammaclaine.bsky.social
Yes of course he's nailed it 😂
sammaclaine.bsky.social
So the 4000 people at the Valuation Agency are going to give a new value to 6m properties a year for 5 years plus all the thousands of appeals ?. Then start again. I think you are going to need a bigger Agency 😂
sammaclaine.bsky.social
It doesn't. Landlords can charge what they like as rent 🤔
