I've been a Swiftie since debut, but this is the first time I haven't found any songs to love on a Taylor Swift album. I like it! It's going to be good fun to dance to and it has some really catchy hooks. But for me it's missing the ~secret sauce~ that makes me want to replay it over and over.

I want to believe there's a place for my story about bipolar disorder and Irish and Welsh mythology. I feel like there's something about it that means I can't drop it like I did with the first book I queried (though I'm currently hacking that one apart). It's probably just me though. 😮‍💨

I've been querying it for three years and I feel like my heart has broken and mended over it again and again. I'll get the most crushing rejection and then an unexpected message from a friend telling me how much they're enjoying it. But I'm fast running out of agents to query now.

Been thinking a lot lately about my Celtic YA fantasy and how I just can't let it go. I have gotten SO close! So many times! One agent even wrote me a near-ESSAY on what she loved about it. But it always comes down to "almost".
