What I’m reading:

A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross and The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman.

What are you reading?
Here's a timeline cleanse.
I realized the other day that I now have Opinions about floss brands. Which feels weird. 😅
Second day in a row I’ve been able to write over 1k words since about 2022. I am Not Productive when my mental health is spiraling, apparently.

But two days of productivity? Words that I *don’t hate*?

I’ve fought really hard for this.
I don't know... last week I had all the windows in my house replaced and I could not *believe* how excited I was. This, I feel, is the true mark of adulting: getting excited about windows.

I have a new novelette out today! It's about disabled people caring for one another--even when one of them is a phantom.

It's free to read at @reactorsff.bsky.social.
New story day!

"Phantom View" is about a son caretaking for his father, and discovering a blurry person in all their family photos that he has no memory of. The same figure is in all his dad's paintings--and the figure may be in the house with them right now.

Writing novels is very hard, and everyone who finishes writing one deserves praise and accolades purely for that accomplishment.
Tell me your most life-affirming literary opinion.
I think I've replaced my blood with diet dr. pepper a few years ago.

My favorite color is green.
Right? I can't figure out how they managed to get her to wear a hat. 😅
Clover had a Halloween themed play date today.
You know, one of the worst parts of editing is that I’m constantly working on so many incredible things and I can’t talk about any of them. 🤣
I sat down today and wrote 473 words in A Portrait in Shifting Light and I’m going to celebrate the shit out of that because it has taken me OVER A YEAR to be able to sit here and say, I really *finally* actually have words on a page again.

❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! Coloring people intimidates me a lot and I’ve never really attempted hair like this. I’m pleased by how it’s turning out.
I have no idea what the hell im doing, how did you guess? 🤣

From Mythographic Dragonspell, using Pablo pencils.
I've started writing my first article about how this year of diagnoses and then treating CPTSD has changed my relationship to my creativity & my understanding of my creative process.

It's... a hell of a thing to write. It's making me realize how *hard* I've worked this year and how far I've come.
Today’s baking project(s). I had a can of pumpkin on hand so I used it.

Pumpkin spice bread with a crumble top and maple glaze (it’s not terribly pretty but it smells good) and pumpkin spice cookies.
Clover wants to show off her new collar. It came with a matching leash. She feels very fancy, I assure you.
My weekend read.

I love the setting (historical Spain, complete with the inquisition), the lush prose, and attention to detail. I’m not sure where this is going, but I’m eager to find out. This one is proving hard to put down.
INTERNET, we have been having an argument in our house this morning.

DISCUSS.
Today, I paused editing long enough to bake chocolate peanut butter banana bread.
That cover is absolutely doing it for me. I’m seeing if my library has it! Thanks!
Alright, I'm putting various SFF books on hold at the library.

What should I add to my holds list?

Tell me what to read!
