💼 It was great to join the Street and Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Shoemakers Museum on Friday. The Chamber plays a vital role supporting local businesses, entrepreneurs and volunteers, strengthening our rural economy and creating opportunities for young people.

💧I was delighted to meet members of the Cocklemoor Community Trust, Langport Town Council & Wessex Water to learn about new AI technology monitoring water quality in the River Parrett in real time. It was wonderful to see the beauty of the Parrett aboard community boat, The Duchess of Cocklemoor.

🌳It was a pleasure to attend The Head Gardeners Conference at The Newt, bringing together experts from across horticulture & environmental science. I’ll be pushing for stronger protection for our ancient trees & woodlands, which currently have to rely too much on landowners’ goodwill.

This week is #BabyLossAwarenessWeek, a time to remember every baby lost too soon & support those living with that grief. I recently met a constituent still searching for answers decades later - a too common story. Families deserve compassion, dignity & to be heard. You are not alone.

On Tuesday I joined members of the Beckery Island Regeneration Trust, Town Council & Somerset Council for a tour of the Baily’s Building in Glastonbury. It's inspiring to see how this ambitious project is bringing new life to the historic tannery & celebrating the town’s proud industrial past.

Honoured to give the keynote speech at the Dairy Industry Dinner last week. Great to meet so many dedicated people & celebrate Barbers Cheesemakers' Michael Masters. I'm pleased Yellow Wellies was the chosen charity, supporting farm safety. I'll keep working to support dairy farmers in Parliament.

Last week I joined a Glastonbury ambulance crew to see first-hand the incredible work they do. SWASFT serves 5.7m people across 10,000 square miles but faces huge pressure from hospital handover delays & lack of GP access. I'm grateful to the hard-working crews for their professionalism & care.

I’ve written to the Rail Minister about the ongoing disruption on the West of England line. With emergency timetables, 40mph limits and cascading delays, passengers deserve better. I’m urging the Government to back long-term investment so our communities get a reliable service.
