No, I just saw your response and responded. No need to be rude. There are other platforms for that.
I never said anything about it being necessary because it changes the meaning in some instances. I think it’s necessary because without it you don’t have a pause, and I like the pause.
That’s a silly question, I never said it always changes the meaning. I said it can.

“The event had a panel of our professors, a doctor and a former sex worker”.

“Grandma finds inspiration in cooking, her family and her dog.”
I’ve always written how I want my words to be read—even academic papers. That’s the whole point of writing and grammar.

I hate it when people don’t use the Oxford comma. I like the pause and, like you said, it can change the meaning.
I prefer to use grammar as I would like words to be read.

A comma invites a quick pause, a semi-colon a longer pause; an em dash a dramatic pause—and a period a full breath.

When the Oxford comma is absent no pause.
Party leadership can change anytime with an internal party vote.

Anyone can join a party and vote (you can only join one at a time).

The party’s new leader becomes PM and will serve until the next federal election or until a vote of no confidence is passed.

Our next election is in Oct.

I like to think people on Bluesky know this. But just in case…

In Canada we do not vote for our Prime Minister. Ever.

Every 4 years we vote for our local representative and the leader of the party with the most seats becomes the Prime Minister.

Today I had the thought,
"Acting is finding the simplicity in complexity and the complexity in simplicity."

Then I wondered if the same could be said for joy.

And maybe that's where the magic is.

So people know what they’re doing without having to follow them.
I wrote about the weaponization of free speech last summer. Didn't know what to do with it, so it’s sitting in a Google Doc lol… shorturl.at/F1Pm2

Meanwhile, @mollyjongfast.bsky.social at @vanityfair.com just published a piece on how Trumpworld is waging a war on words. Worth a read. ⬇️
Oooh, attention to detail is important!
Some sites make it so complicated!
Landing pages are like dating profiles, if you don’t make it clear who you are and why you’re interesting, people will swipe away.

On Chinese maps, Taiwan is typically labeled as “Taiwan Province,” reflecting the Chinese government’s stance that Taiwan is a province of China rather than an independent entity.

Taiwanese maps and international maps generally label it simply Taiwan.

Sound familiar?

We got rid of the penny ages ago in Canada.
