I think shaders can play a major role in the final look but I can see what you mean. Both Arcane/Warcraft seem to favor baked lighting/high contrast. Arcane probably leans heavy into hand-painted normals since they work with a bit heavier lighting than Warcraft.

While returning to twitter appealed to me for some time, the vibe here is still far better at least in my experience.

If I ever do start posting on twitter again, I'll probably turn off replies and not really interact over there.

Oh good! I mentioned it since I came across a set up that had perfect pelvis + shoulder deformation without any corrective shapekeys by using constraints + b-bones 😅

Have you looked into using b-bones? It's possible to create a rig just using them + constraints to make a perfect rig without using corrective shapekeys.
