This morning's game was SLA Industries, where the team set out to change the paper in the printer. It took them a few hours but they did eventually get their kebabs.

More games at #furnacerpg. Candela Obscura, investigating a mass disappearance at a carnival. Then all-cat-people Dragonbane with @savagespiel.bsky.social - good dialogue opportunities for an evening game!

Just played my first game of Pendragon. It's nicely put together, the passions are fun, and the skill list is reasonable sized for a BRP game.

Finished both my scenarios for Furnace this weekend. That was a close one! Normally I like to do online test runs of scenarios, but I don't think I can fit one in this time...

I've printed character sheets, the scenario, and the sign-up sheet for K-pop Demon Hunters: Hoobaes. I've got a sign-up sheet, the book and my deck of cards for Wraithound. I'm sure I've got index cards somewhere. Let's hope they're in the bag I think they're in.

For Alien, while the actual mechanics are quick and easy, characters have secrets and hidden agendas, which are a bit hard to do at the table. So I make pre-gens that will make for a fun, unpredictable experience.

In short, yes, no, and also maybe.
savagespiel.bsky.social
There's a ton of available playbooks so I'll pick five or six that particularly suit the scenario and maybe add a little blurb about their role in the team. Then have the players pick their own stats, moves and gear.

For Liminal, pre-gens every time. I can drop a lot of setting basics into PC bios.

Depends on the game. For Matrons of Mystery it's always character creation at the table. It's quick and we get a really fun range of old ladies, plenty of whom I would never have come up with by myself.

With Monster of the Week I do character creation at the table but with limitations.

It's a week tomorrow - 4th October.

Still counts! People must have read the whole thread.

Fingers crossed for Roll20 behaving this time! I have plans. And maps.

안녕하세요!

So apparently I have a new hobby now. This Hangul script is great. Major props to King Sejong the Great.

Given that we're having to space out episodes of Tomorrow so as not to dump too much trauma on ourselves at once, we've started a second show. Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Absolutely loving it so far. Woo Young Woo is lovely and the rest of the cast feels equally nuanced and well written. Delightful.

And done. They're still going to need sanity checking, but I think I'm finished. People had better have signed up for this game. Making one Dragonbane character is fine. Making five of them was awful. Next time I'm just going to reuse the same ones and maybe switch out the kin if I feel adventurous.

Prepping for my Dragonbane scenario at Furnace. Most of the actual plot is done, and I've got a rough idea what maps I'm going to use. But the worst part is creating characters. Normally I love character creation for one-shots, but not for Dragonbane! Two cat people down, three to go. Arrgh.

Started a new K-drama: Tomorrow. I don't think I can actually recommend this one, as while it's a supernatural drama based on Korean mythology (hence why we started watching it), its theme is suicide prevention which means the subject matter is extremely heavy.

Still stars a Kpop idol, obviously.
Poster for Tomorrow, showing three very hot guys and one equally hot woman, all in extremely sharp suits because they are actually Jeoseung Saja.

Slugblaster campaign finished last night. Overall I think this is a great version of FITD and the downtime system is way more interesting than the way Blades keeps ending up as 'Welp, time to relieve stress again'. Although it does have the usual FITD issue that dice are bastards.

The buttocks are defeated.
The buttock monster lies prone as the tiger monk reaches to touch their glistening surface. The leshy and turtle lie unconscious and the ratfolk is on fire.

Once more we prepare to face the glistening buttock monster.
A TV battle board showing a snowy landscape and a huge black humanoid monster, its buttocks polished to a subtle shine, while the other miniatures look on.

Check out our talk with @savagespiel.bsky.social as we discuss how to write an adventure for her Brindlewood styled game, Matrons of Mystery. The C word may be used, Cosy that is.

So after ripping my heart out at the end of episode 14 and stamping on it for most of 15, by the end of 16 we were back to wacky bum touching hijinks.

Are there any experienced K-drama viewers out there who can tell me if this kind of emotional rollercoaster is normal?
savagespiel.bsky.social
Past me was entirely wrong about how much I was going to love Bong Ye-Bun and Moon Jang-Yeol.

The second half of the series is less comedic and way more tense. We had to stop watching last night because we couldn't handle the emotions.

I did actually learn something from Secret Royal Inspector and Joy, it turns out, when the vet participates in a shamanic ritual and I recognised the outfits and stuff.

I don't think I'm going to love these characters like Ra Yi-Eon and Kim Jo-Yi but I'm looking forward to the murders.
