This week I've been at ECML in Porto and today at the social good workshop presented our work aiming to gain insights into the decision making process and progression of climate policy through the European Parliament.

The work was led by the excellent Patricia West as an undergraduate project!

Last week at the University of Bristol's AI Summer School, I presented my journey: from academic and clinical research towards deployment of early disease detection AI as a medical device software. Great questions and engagement from the audience — thanks Interactive AI CDT for the invitation!

Not based at Pittsburgh but want to hear more about stress management during a #PhD? I've got you covered! Earlier this year I gave a similar webinar for @biochemsoc.bsky.social which is available here:

P.S. I've not watched it, please don't tell me if it's embarrassing! 🙈

Today I joined #FastForGaza for the day — a small act, nothing compared to the suffering Palestinians endure daily.

I'm ashamed that publicly I’ve been far too silent for far too long.

While working on projects to save lives, I can’t stay quiet as my government helps enable this ongoing horror.

It's always great to see work from an undergrad project get published rather than being buried on a hard drive!

Today a student I supervised from @bristoluni.bsky.social presented their project at an #ICLR2025 workshop. 🌎🥳

AI is set to transform healthcare decision-making, but building trust remains crucial. Our latest guest blog explains research aiming to evaluate how clinicians understand and interact with explainable AI to improve patient care.
